Chelsea Get Manchester United And Tottenham Get Real Madrid

Chelsea will face Manchester United in the quarter finals of the champions league while  Tottenham hotspur play Real Madrid  and the favorites Barcelona Host Shakhtar  Donetsk and the reigning champions Inter Millan get German side  Schalke.

The semi final draw was also made and it lines up like this the winner of Chelsea or United will go face to face Inter or Schalke, the other semi final will be the winners from the Tottenham or real will face ether Barcelona or Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

The quarter final ties will be played on the 5/6  and 12/13 April

while Tottenham are big under dogs against Real Madrid but will player under no pressure as the pressure is on the Spanish giants. If real beat Tottenham it could will be an all Spanish semi final would be great for football fans around the world.

Barcelona star Eric Abidal to undergo surgery on Thursday 17th of March at 3pm for a liver tumour
the 31 years old France international has played for his country at two world cups in Germany and south Africa.

Abidal joined the Spanish side Barcelona in 2007 from  Lyon  has been a regular member of the first team ever sense, he has been in an impressive form this season helping Barcelona over come arsenal in the champions league last 16 and going through to the quarter finals  and Barcelona are  top in the Spanish league.


Barcelona have no indication of how long abidal will be sideline and wish the best for the defender

Sir Alex Ferguson recives 5 match ban

     Ferguson made comments about Martin Atkinson after the

   red devils defeat  to Chelsea

The FA tribunal has given sir Alex Ferguson 5 match touchline  ban for the comments he made about referee Martin Atkinson during the defeat to west London side Chelsea.

The  Manchester United manager was found guilty in court  for improper conduct for criticizing Atkinson's display in his side  loss to Chelsea earlier this month.

Sir Alex Ferguson said these comments to man united TV  (You want a fair referee, or a strong referee anyway  and we didn't get that.)

the five match ban starts 22nd  March and includes the FA cup game with local rivals Manchester City

the three man panel also fined Ferguson 30,000 pound then united manger has 48 hours if he wants to appeal

Brillant Inter Millan knock out Bayern Munich

Inter millan beat Bayern Munich(3-2) on the night and (3-3) on aggregate the Italian giants wining on the away goal rule , the reigning champions performed well   in what was a stunging attacking game from both sides.

Inter trailed the tie 1-0 first leg german striker mario gomez geting the vital away goal for german side
Samuel Eto`o levelled the tie on the third minute when he coolly slotted home.

However Brazilian goal keeper Julio Cesar mistake of spiting the ball  gifted Mario Gomez a chance to levelled the game on the night before Thomas Muller put Bayern ahead and in control of the game leading the overall tie 3-1that gave inter a mountain to claim.

The game took a massive turn around when dutch star Wesley Sneijder scored a fine curing effort that gave Bayern keeper no chance, now that gave inter hope and urged them to attack that finaly payed of 88 minute when Goran Pandev scored a dramatic late winner for Inter Millan.

Terry may captain England again

Jens Lehman close to a move back to the gunners

                 Jens Lehmann spent five years at arsenal before joining German side Stuttgart

the gunners are closing on a deal for goal keeper  Jens Lehman for the rest of the season.Jens played 199 times for the north London giants before joining Stuttgart.

the ex German goal keeper has been free agent after retiring from Stuttgart in 2010 spending only two season at the club.Arsenal are hopeful the deal can be done before the game at west brom , Lehman should be in the squad all depending a deal between the player and the club can be done.

Arsenal are short of goal keepers after losing fabianski and szczesny to an injury which means both goal keepers will be out for the rest of the season that leaves alumina is the only fit goal keeper that the gunners have, and is no suprise that arsenal need a goal keeper as soon as possible.

The year august 2003 untill june 2007 jens kept 52 clean sheet puting him second in the history of most clean sheets in the preimer league just one behind chelsea goal keeper peter cech ,jens lehmann was part of the invincible s  the team that went the whole of the 2003/2004 season unbeaten helping the gunners went on to win the preimer league and also played a key role in the 2005 FA cup final win over Manchester united.

Jens Lehmann is known for his aggression and his hunger to win cups, arsenal are hopeing the 41 year old can bring the league title to the emirates this season the gunners have not won a trophy in 6 years.
